Can my phone work as a speaker and microphone at the same time?
Yes. CastSound is designed around listening to your computer and speaking through your phone in one connection.
Can I use my phone as a webcam for my computer?
Yes. Start the camera in CastSound and your computer sees a CastSound camera you can select in Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, OBS, and other apps.
Do both devices need the same Wi-Fi?
That is the simplest setup. USB tethering can also provide a steadier direct connection.
Does CastSound record my conversations?
CastSound does not intentionally record or keep your audio. Audio is sent to the device you connect to while the connection is active.
Why does CastSound request microphone access?
The permission is used only when you choose to send microphone sound to a connected computer.
What if my device is not discovered?
You can scan the code shown on the computer, enter its local address, or follow the connection troubleshooting guide.
What are the free tier limits?
The free tier lets you stream for up to 10 minutes per session and 30 minutes per day. CastSound Lifetime removes both limits.
Do I need an account?
No. The free tier works without an account. An account is only required to restore or manage a CastSound Lifetime purchase.

Does CastSound work on Windows?
Not yet. CastSound currently runs on macOS and Linux computers, paired with an Android phone or iPhone.
Is there a delay between the computer and the phone?
CastSound is built for real-time sound over Wi-Fi, so the delay stays low enough for calls, films, and games. For the steadiest link, use USB tethering instead of a busy network.
Can I use CastSound for Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or OBS?
Yes. Choose CastSound Microphone as the microphone input and the CastSound camera as the video input in the app you are using. Both appear like any standard device.
Can CastSound connect over Bluetooth?
No. Bluetooth audio adds too much delay for live listening. CastSound uses your Wi-Fi network, with USB tethering as the low-latency alternative.
How much does CastSound cost?
The free tier covers 10 minutes per session and 30 minutes per day. CastSound Lifetime is a one-time purchase inside the mobile app that removes both limits.
Can I connect several phones to one computer?
CastSound connects one phone to one computer at a time, so one phone acts as the speaker, microphone, and webcam together.
